Laser Dentistry Means No Needels, No Drills!
Lasers can now be used for doing fillings. The newest lasers are used to remove unhealthy tooth structure prior to placing a white bonded filling. The laser in combination with air abrasion (a gentle stream of air particles) allows better bonding to healthy tooth structure. The combination of techniques allows us to preserve healthy tooth structure. This is a basic principle of the new field of minimally invasive dentistry.
